  • Five days, one small group, and agents that actually make it to production. We're planning our first Agentic AI Engineering Bootcamp in Leuven, aiming for the week of Nov 30. If your team is stuck between AI demos and production, let us know you're interested and help us set the dates. Save your spot (no commitment): https://lnkd.in/eYJXq_T8

  • "I have replicated some bugs just to satisfy stakeholders." That line from Raghid Bsat sums up a lot about data platform migrations. The legacy numbers had been treated as correct for years, so the business asked to keep them. Raghid moved them as they were, documented them, and handed them over. On the new episode of the Data Playbook podcast, Raghid and our CEO Kris Peeters walk through the Migration Guide Raghid wrote, phase by phase: vision, governance, discovery, execution and cutover. It is a properly technical conversation, and Raghid makes the case that a migration is 75% analysis and 25% execution. We cover source-to-target dependency maps, when to lift and shift and when to refactor, and how a migrator agent and a validator agent now turn a month-long QA cycle into hours. Great job, Raghid. If a migration is on the roadmap, start with the guide. 📘 Read the Migration Guide: https://lnkd.in/eErJXvJX 📺 Watch: https://lnkd.in/eJuh-xp4 🎧 or Listen: https://lnkd.in/eQPUb_5t 🌐 More at www.dataminded.com

Big one for our TechEx podcast! 🎉 As of this month, all our episodes are on Apple Podcasts 🎬 in full VIDEO, making us one of the first hands-on Data & AI video podcasts there! You can now actually watch me and my Dataminded colleagues build things, right in the Podcasts app, explaining everything Data & AI related! Some topics: MCP, AI agent skills, Snowflake Intelligence, semantic layers in Databricks, AI code reviews… and a few hard-learned lessons on Azure costs and AWS outages. Everything we published is free to watch, and the demo code is open source. Plus, with 15 episodes and counting, we have a refresh for you after the summer break: a new look, and a name that better reflects what we show you: Technology Explorations in Data & AI! Stay tuned for our new season 👀 📱 Watch it on iPhone & iPad (iOS 26.4+), Mac (macOS 27) or Apple TV (tvOS 27) Big thanks to everyone who explored with me so far 🙌 Links in the comments 👇 And as always, feedback welcome! #DataEngineering #AI #Podcast #Dataminded

  • Every team gets full access to company data, but the data team is still the bottleneck. Why? In this episode of the Data Playbook podcast, Andrew Jones (staff data engineer at LocalStack) explains that even where access is solved, the request queue stays long because the data is modelled in a way that only the data team can use. Andrew’s fix starts with data contracts. When a producer team marks a column as an email address in its contract, the platform deploys the quality check on its own and alerts the team in Slack the moment a value stops looking like one, without anyone writing a validation pipeline. Listen to the full episode to learn why data teams hold onto being the bottleneck, why the assumptions behind medallion architecture are worth revisiting, and what happens to data semantics once AI agents start asking the questions people used to ask. • 📢 Next week, Dataminded is heading to the POA Summit! On September 16–17, the Data Product Oriented Architectures community gathers at DPG Media in Antwerp, and we're closing out the summit with a talk from our own Katarina Milosevic. Agent-Ready Data Products: What Changes When Agents Become Consumers As AI agents start consuming data products alongside humans, the producer–consumer relationship breaks in new ways. Katarina digs into what actually goes wrong, and makes the case that the tribal knowledge currently living in people's heads has to become part of the data product itself if agents are going to use it reliably. If you're building or thinking about data products in an agent-driven world, this is one to catch. 📍 DPG Media, Antwerp 📅 September 16–17 🔗 Register: https://lnkd.in/e_TiAySh Join us, and join the talk! 👋 #DataProducts #DataMesh #AgenticAI #POASummit #Dataminded

  • Today we open our doors for the Summer edition of our data engineering bootcamp. Twice a year, for the past five years, we've run this one-week intensive program to prepare learners for a career in data engineering. The Academy we built around the bootcamp has grown a lot since. It now covers individual courses on specific tools like dbt, Airflow, and Kubernetes, training programs built around each client's own stack and team, and workshops on how to fit AI into a data engineer's work. But this one-week bootcamp is where our heart is. It's the same curriculum we use to train our own consultants, taught by senior engineers doing the work full-time with our enterprise clients. What a privilege it is to still be running this, five years and ten editions in! We're ready to go again with a sold out room, and we're so excited to welcome our next twenty Dataminded Academy alumni! 💜 🚀 Jan Vanbuel, Jonny Daenen
