Maritime Centre of Excellence | Training - Assessments - Applied Research

About us

Simwave is a company active in operating comprehensive maritime simulation training centres equipped with simulators based on world-leading simulation technology. Our customers require training or assessing on simulators and do not choose to develop and maintain own in-house simulators for various reasons. By using our own naval architects and a team of 3D modellers, Simwave offer you facilities where you can use your own mathematical ship models in your own port-environment. Bring your own instructors, we take care of all technical, operational and hospitality support. Simwave centres are flexible centres, it adapts to your own corporate branding. Our focus is not only on the navigation, engine and ship management related training but also on the emergency response training on board of cruise ships, such as advanced firefighting -and crowd control training. Because of the fast-growing technology, we have made it possible to integrate these applications. Simwave operates global and independently and will fully relieve customers by running best-of-class facilities. It is a one stop shop for certified maritime training and we can offer the full scope of possibilities: hiring our facilities or a turnkey solution, all tailor made to your requirements and expectations. Your crew will love to train!

🚢 𝗧𝗥𝗜𝗔𝗟𝗦 𝗔𝗥𝗘 𝗢𝗡! 🌊 Thanks to our partner Wärtsilä, Bridge Teams have started the testing of 𝗦-𝟭𝟬𝟬 𝗘𝗖𝗗𝗜𝗦 𝗔𝗡𝗗 𝗗𝗔𝗧𝗔𝗦𝗘𝗧𝗦. Hearing the #feedback from #seafarers about what opportunities the new technology offers and hearing the debate during the debrief was an excellent opportunity to see what the future of #navigation will look like and identify a few unresolved issues. Honoured to be able to host discussions about such a critical matter at our 𝗖𝗘𝗡𝗧𝗘𝗥 𝗢𝗙 𝗘𝗫𝗖𝗘𝗟𝗟𝗘𝗡𝗖𝗘. Valerio Ferrandino MNI

We proudly call ourselves a 𝗖𝗘𝗡𝗧𝗘𝗥 𝗢𝗙 𝗘𝗫𝗖𝗘𝗟𝗟𝗘𝗡𝗖𝗘 - we are not just a place where seafarers from the whole world come to build competencies, we are a hub for the exchange of ideas and expertise on critical #Maritime topics amongst leading industry experts.   That's why we are so proud to have kick-started our event "𝗦-𝟭𝟬𝟬 – 𝗧𝗢𝗠𝗢𝗥𝗥𝗢𝗪’𝗦 𝗢𝗣𝗣𝗢𝗥𝗧𝗨𝗡𝗜𝗧𝗜𝗘𝗦, 𝗧𝗢𝗗𝗔𝗬’𝗦 𝗖𝗛𝗔𝗟𝗟𝗘𝗡𝗚𝗘𝗦".   The conversation today revolves around a simple, but important question - 🔹 What is S-100? 🔹 When is it coming?   We are discussing this with the UK Hydrographic Office, the Dutch Dienst der Hydrografie and SHOM, interacting with an audience of seafarers, technology providers and shipping professionals.   One more question has emerged from the interaction between the experts: how much will 𝗦-𝟭𝟬𝟬 change in operations and training for seafarers? Stay tuned to find out the answer - our workshop continues, until Friday! 🌍𝗛𝗼𝘄 𝗺𝗮𝗻𝘆 𝗱𝗲𝘀𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀 𝗰𝗮𝗻 𝘆𝗼𝘂 𝘃𝗶𝘀𝗶𝘁 𝗶𝗻 𝗷𝘂𝘀𝘁 𝟯 𝗱𝗮𝘆𝘀? With our simulators at Simwave, the answer can be quite a few! 𝗜𝗻 𝗷𝘂𝘀𝘁 𝗼𝗻𝗲 𝗱𝗮𝘆, we can take our trainees from IJmuiden to Hambantota, New York, Valletta, Southampton, and many other destinations around the world — without ever leaving the simulator. Much like #dragonflies, moving effortlessly from one leaf to another, our training environment allows crews to travel across oceans, experience different ports and conditions, and prepare for the challenges they may encounter on board. This week, we had the great pleasure of welcoming the 𝗠𝗮𝘀𝘁𝗲𝗿 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗢𝗳𝗳𝗶𝗰𝗲𝗿𝘀 𝗼𝗳 𝗮 𝘀𝘂𝗽𝗲𝗿𝘆𝗮𝗰𝗵𝘁 with a beautiful name for an intensive training course covering both 𝗽𝗼𝗱 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗰𝗼𝗻𝘃𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝗮𝗹 𝗽𝗿𝗼𝗽𝘂𝗹𝘀𝗶𝗼𝗻. And guess what? 🚀 Once the crew successfully completed their training, they were ready to fly back to their vessel — just like #dragonflies heading towards the next plant, the next leaf, and the next adventure somewhere around the world. 🌿🌊 It is a real privilege to be part of these journeys and to contribute, even in a small way, to the continuous development of the people who keep the maritime world moving.
