Implementation of consensus infobox changes for current seasons

At Wikipedia:Village_pump_(proposals)/Archive_172#Designating_current_seasons_in_infoboxes, I read clear consensus to use text rather than images to designate the current season. Hey folks. This has been up for about a month and a half now and has gotten I think 6 respondents in total. It's set for closure fairly soon, so any engagement is appreciated. The topic is whether we want to merge all the articles for competitions by country by year (e.g. Mali at the 2011 World Championships in Athletics, Mali at the 2013 championships, etc.) into one singular article on competitions by country (e.g. Mali at the World Athletics Championships). Pages for particular competitions could otherwise be branched out on a case-by-case basis when necessary. All input/commentary is welcome.

New user using advanced techniques on sports articles

Brand new user Tete Pul (talk · contribs) is using advanced transclusion techniques such as WP:Labeled section transclusion in sports articles, for example in this edit adding 6kb to 3x3 basketball at the 2026 Asian Games – Men's tournament. LST is an advanced technique (which I am familiar with and can explain if needed) but is highly atypical in a user's third career edit. Requesting project members watch and comment as needed. Tete Pul, so can you please explain why you added numerous labeled sections to 3x3 basketball at the 2026 Asian Games – Men's tournament, as if you were going to excerpt those sections in other articles? Based on the Asian Games article, there was a schedule for 3x3 basketball both men's and women's. I just translated from Japanese, then transcluded.

Tete Pul, if you are translating from other Wikipedias, that is allowed (even encouraged), but if you are translating from an external source, which may well be under copyright protection, that is forbidden and may have to be undone and have the page history sanitized. If you have no plans to transclude portions of the article 3x3 basketball at the 2026 Asian Games – Men's tournament into other articles by their labeled sections, those labels should be removed.
