Not the manager. Not the rep. And definitely not when there are eleven more sitting in a folder. So most calls don't get reviewed. The deal moves on, or it doesn't, and the call that probably mattered never gets opened again. What we've been trying to change isn't really the analysis. It's the amount of work needed to get something useful from a call. You open it and can quickly see how the call went, what was covered, what was agreed, and what was missed. If something looks off, you can dig into that specific moment, the transcript, or the recording. Most of the time, you don't need to. I think that's the part we got wrong about call coaching. It's not that managers don't care or don't want to coach. It's that properly reviewing 30 minutes of conversation, multiplied across a team, just doesn't fit into a normal week. The problem is mostly arithmetic. If reviewing a call takes three minutes instead of thirty, it becomes something you can actually do consistently. Not because people suddenly became more disciplined. Because it fits. Sales leaders: how many calls from last week did your team actually review?

Luis Ribó ha recomendado estoLuis Ribó ha recomendado estoMost call-review tools start with the easiest thing to measure. But a call review has three layers, and they make more sense from the inside out. First: strategy. What kind of call was this? What was it supposed to achieve? What makes someone a real opportunity? Who are we selling to? You won't find that in the recording. It's usually in someone's head, buried in a playbook, or sitting in a document nobody opens again. Then: the conversation. What was said? What was covered? What got skipped? What was still unknown when the call ended? Then: the action. What happens next? What needs updating? Who needs to pick something up? Most tools start at the outside because that's what they can measure without knowing anything about the deal. Talk ratio. Monologue length. Filler words. Sentiment. Useful metrics, but they don't know what the call was for or whether it was actually a good opportunity. That's why the strategy layer needs to come first, not get inferred afterwards. Where does your current call review start?

Luis Ribó ha recomendado estoLuis Ribó ha recomendado esto🛰️ It’s already been 6 months since I joined the Mission Operations team at AST SpaceMobile as a Satellite Operations Engineer. Looking back, it has been an absolutely incredible journey. Seeing the leap from my time at the UPC NanoSat Lab, where we participated in the European Space Agency - ESA's 'Fly Your Satellite!' missions developing picosatellites and CubeSats for academic purposes, to a vanguard company like AST, has been mind-blowing. Now, we are building and operating the largest phased array satellite constellation in LEO. 🚀 In just half a year, I've already had the opportunity to participate in 3 launches all alongside the exceptional, talented (and young!) team I get to work with every day. ✨ To top off this milestone, I recently returned from a company trip to the US, where I worked from our Satellite Operations Center in Washington, D.C. It was a fantastic chance to finally meet and learn from the overseas team we interact with daily. I'm looking forward to the challenges ahead and what we will achieve in the coming months as AST grows fast and keeps building the largest phased array LEO constellation! 🌍🛰️ #ASTSpaceMobile #SatelliteOperations #SpaceEngineering #MOPS #Telecommunications #LEO #Aerospace #ESA

Luis Ribó ha recomendado estoLuis Ribó ha recomendado estoI took a job in GTM & Ops assuming “go-to-market” was a term SaaS had invented about five years ago. It wasn’t. The term appears in Harvard Business Review in 1990, in Rowland Moriarty and Ursula Moran’s “Managing Hybrid Marketing Systems.” And the interesting part is that the problem wasn’t new either. Companies were already trying to coordinate different routes to market: direct sales, distributors, retail, direct mail and more. Moriarty and Moran’s contribution was to give managers a way to think about how those channels and commercial tasks fit together. The underlying ideas went back much further. Levitt had argued in 1960 that companies should define themselves around customer needs, not products. McCarthy had formalised the 4Ps. Porter had developed the value chain and a framework for competitive advantage. Stern and El-Ansary had developed the theory of marketing channels and how they should be designed and managed. And in 1990, the same year as Moriarty and Moran, Kohli and Jaworski were developing a framework for market orientation and its implementation. So GTM wasn't a new theory suddenly invented for SaaS. The problem was already there. The label gave managers a way to talk about coordinating the pieces. And that distinction matters. I don't think a go-to-market is simply a marketing strategy with a new name. A marketing strategy can be broader and longer-term. A GTM is usually more specific: a particular product, market, customer segment or commercial motion, with the functions involved in taking it to customers aligned around the same plan. And in practice, GTM failures often aren't failures of strategy. They're failures of coordination. Marketing generates leads sales doesn't trust. Sales closes customers who were never a good fit. Customer success inherits expectations it didn't set. Everyone has a plan. Everyone has a metric. And somehow the metrics don't reconcile. That's not a new SaaS problem. It's a very old commercial problem with a relatively new name. Which is why the question I keep coming back to in 2026 is: Founders: if I asked your marketing, sales and customer success leads what a good customer looks like, would I get one answer or three? Sources: - Rowland T. Moriarty & Ursula Moran, “Managing Hybrid Marketing Systems”, Harvard Business Review, 1990. - Stephen Diorio, “What Is Go-To-Market or GTM?”, Forbes, October 2025. And Ryan Paul Gibson, whose post on the lineage sparked my curiosity and sent me exploring the history behind it. Links in the comments.

Luis Ribó ha reaccionado a estoLuis Ribó ha reaccionado a estoClaude made me a faster developer. Salescaling is making me a seller. I spent years building software. Two weeks ago I joined Salescaling in GTM & Ops, and I'm learning sales faster than I've ever learned anything. Every call comes back analysed: what worked, what didn't, the strong moments, what to fix, all of it tied to what was actually said. The context is what I didn't expect. Each call is scored against the sales strategy defined, so a discovery is judged as a discovery and a closing as a closing. An upsell and a qualification are measured against completely different things as the same words can be excellent in one conversation and a not that good in another. Two weeks of reading that and the good habits start to stand out. Qualification where the rep understands the need before proposing anything. Empathy and honesty by default. And explaining not just what the tool does, but how a company gets value from it, which is rarely the same answer twice. That isn't written down anywhere. It's in the calls, and people here already do it well. The analysis is what made it visible to me. Coming from engineering, the shape is familiar. It's a feedback loop, the difference between learning to code with a compiler that tells you exactly what you broke, and learning it from a book. Sales doesn't usually come with a compiler. So I'm learning two things at once. Sales, and the product, because the product is what's teaching me. Which is why a note taker was never the ambition. Note takers tell you what was said. We're building the operating system for sales. Sales leaders: when a deal closes, how do you know which part of the call won it?

Luis Ribó ha recomendado estoLuis Ribó ha recomendado estoLife is a negotiation. Three ideas that stuck with me this week: → The adversary is the situation, not the person across the table. → Fairness is key: people reject good deals when they don't feel treated fairly. → Stop chasing the "yes", a "no" is where trust begins, cause people feel safe saying it. They apply to sales as much as to life. As empathy is key too. Want more? Check "The Art of Negotiation" by Chris Voss (former FBI hostage negotiator) on MasterClass 👇 https://lnkd.in/dbpiSPyr

Luis Ribó ha reaccionado a estoLuis Ribó ha reaccionado a estoBig news: I'm joining Salescaling as GTM & Ops 🚀 The mission: helping B2B SaaS companies build pipeline that scales, without just throwing more headcount at the challenge. What I'll be working on: → Outbound systems that book meetings consistently → RevOps & CRM infrastructure that gives real funnel visibility → Automation that lets sales teams sell, not admin Excited to get started. If you're selling a B2B SaaS and need more pipeline visibility, less manual grind for your team, and systems that actually scale ( from AI agents for cold outreach to custom tools built for how you sell ) my DMs are open. Luis Ribó ha reaccionado a estoLuis Ribó ha reaccionado a estoToday I close my chapter at Openfort. Thanks to the team for teaching me how blockchain infrastructure works, how to build with security as a habit, and what it takes to ship an SDK developers actually enjoy using. Also for the chance to work with Solana Labs as part of the OSS mindset, and for pushing me to own the product. Building in open source changed how I write code. Anyone can read it, so it has to hold up. AI made me faster, but the standard stayed the same: code that’s understood, readable and that makes sense. Learning to design, document and review well turned out to be part of the most important skills. The hardest thing was adapting to direct, unfiltered feedback, and learning to read it as what it is: the fastest way for a team to communicate. I’m leaving with a smile, leveled-up and hoping the market finds the value this team is holding and building day by day.
