What one event actually costs
Published rates, same event, run the numbers yourself.
On this event you keep up to $181 more.
Start freeEstimates from each platform's published rates. Stripe processing (2.9% + $0.30 per ticket) is included for Event Schedule, Luma and Ticket Tailor. Eventbrite is shown with the 2.9% payment processing fee per order that its pricing page adds on top of the service fee. Ticket Tailor publishes $0.28-$0.60 per ticket depending on volume, so the midpoint is used here. Luma is shown at whichever of its free and Plus plans is cheaper for the event, with Plus at its annual-billing price. Our free plan carries no monthly cost and covers up to 25 paid tickets a month.

Where we actually differ
Six things the grid above does not make obvious.
Zero platform fees
We never take a cut of a ticket sale, on any plan. You pay your processor and nothing else.
Open source, actually
The whole application is public under the Attribution Assurance License. Read it, fork it, or run your own copy.
The simpler one to selfhost
Event Schedule and Pretix are the two platforms here you can run yourself. Ours needs standard PHP hosting.
Paste it, do not type it
Paste the text of an email or listing, or drop in a flyer image, and the date, time, venue and description are filled in for you.
Two-way calendar sync
Google Calendar, Outlook and any CalDAV server, syncing both directions, included free on every plan.
Share graphics, generated
The flyers on your next events, up to 20 of them, laid out as one ready-to-post image in your own colors.
Moving over is not a retype
Bring the events and the attendees with you, then keep a copy of everything.
Import your events
On Pro, events come across from Eventbrite directly, with their venues, ticket types and images. Anywhere else, paste the listing text or drop in a flyer image and the AI reads the details out of it.
Bring the attendees
People who already bought import in bulk from a CSV on Pro, up to 5,000 rows at a time, and each one has a ticket with its own QR code here.
Keep your own copy
Backup and restore is built in, images included. Export whenever you like, selfhost it, or walk away with everything.

Frequently asked questions
Does Event Schedule really charge no platform fees?
Correct. We never take a percentage of your ticket sales on any plan. You pay your payment processor directly, and on Stripe that is 2.9% + $0.30 per ticket. Money from ticket sales goes straight to your own Stripe or PayPal account, not through us.
Can buyers pay with PayPal, and can I refund them from Event Schedule?
Yes to both, on every plan. You connect your own Stripe or PayPal account and choose one for each event, and the money goes to that account. A Stripe or PayPal sale can be refunded from the Sales page in full or in part, with the money going back through the same provider, and a partial refund leaves the tickets valid. A sale taken another way, such as cash or a payment link, is marked as refunded instead, which records it without moving any money.
Does Event Schedule have reserved seating?
Yes, on the Enterprise plan, for venue schedules. You draw a seating plan once, with sections, rows, tables and standing areas, and reuse it for every date. Buyers pick their seats from the map, and the box office can hold seats back, book seats for a phone order, move a buyer or release a seat.
Can someone buy tickets to several events at once, or pay in installments?
Yes. A buyer can put tickets to several of your events in one cart and pay once, on every plan, and the cart works with Stripe and PayPal. Installments are a Pro feature that runs on Stripe: the first payment is taken at checkout, the ticket is valid straight away, and the rest are charged to the same card month by month.
How is this different from the pricing page?
The pricing page explains what Event Schedule costs. This page puts those costs next to what other platforms charge for the same event, using their published rates, so you can see the difference rather than take our word for it.
Can I move my events over from another platform?
Yes. The Eventbrite import brings events across with their venues, tickets and images, and people who already bought can be imported from a CSV of up to 5,000 rows; both are Pro features. From anywhere else, paste the listing text or drop in a flyer image and the details are filled in for you.
Which of these platforms are open source?
Event Schedule and Pretix. Both can be selfhosted, and both publish their source. Event Schedule runs on standard PHP and MySQL hosting, while Pretix expects Docker, PostgreSQL and Redis.
Do I have to pay to use Event Schedule?
No. The free plan is free forever with unlimited events and schedules, and it sells up to 25 paid tickets a month. Pro at $5/mo lifts that to unlimited ticket sales and adds the API, and selfhosted installs get every paid feature at no cost.
Ready to switch?
Free forever on the free plan, and no platform fees on any of them.
