@grantmcdermott This warning message appears when I switch plot back end from "standard" to "jgd" after restarting R terminal.

> Warning message:
[sess] Plot backend "jgd" was requested but no renderer connection is available. Falling back to the standard plot viewer.

JGD then only takes effect after restarting VS Code.

    Confirmed on a fresh remote, where I had to run Cmd + R first. (Shortcut for Developer: Reload Window in the command palette.)

    Okay, should be fixed by #1766. Please test when you get a sec.
