[.data.table accept single arg keyby but does not process correctly #1105
Description
Supplying only by or only keyby argument to [.data.table might result unexpected results:
library(data.table)
dt <- data.table(a = 1:10, b = 1:5)
# example on keyby, all three cases: no error, no aggregation, returns dt
dt[,,,b]
dt[,,,keyby=b]
dt[keyby=b]Another thing would be nice to handle below, currently is error
dt[1,,,b] # error

All cases reported in this issue are already emitting warning, so it was resolved sometime during the last 5 years. Tests that covers this are 1967.521+
