Summary

  • Extension-published agents now resolve the same session skill catalog in prompts, native skill tools, and session commands.
  • compozy__config_get now reports an absent configuration entry with the deterministic public reason code config_path_not_found.
  • Tool IDs, request/response shapes, extension formats, and visual Web behavior remain unchanged; hosted extension-tool bootstrap is tracked separately in Extension tools discovered after hosted MCP bind are not callable in managed sessions #371.

Changes

  • Session skill resolution: centralizes packaged, authored, and extension-published agent resolution while preserving lazy resolver wiring, authored refreshes, session workspace isolation, and fallback only for skills.ErrAgentNotFound.
  • Native configuration contract: distinguishes a valid config tool with a missing path from an unknown tool, and publishes the new reason code through the canonical OpenAPI and generated TypeScript enums.
  • Coverage and documentation: adds prompt, native-tool, config, command-catalog, and hosted-MCP regression coverage; updates the official Compozy skill and the affected QA scenarios/report.

Release Notes

🐛 Bug Fixes

  • Extension-published agents reliably load their session skills across prompts, native skill discovery, and command catalogs.
  • Missing compozy__config_get paths return config_path_not_found instead of tool_unknown.

Test plan

  • mise exec -- go test -race ./internal/daemon -count=1
  • mise exec -- go test -race ./internal/tools -count=1
  • mise exec -- go test ./internal/api/spec -count=1
  • mise exec -- go test -tags=integration ./internal/daemon -run TestDaemonE2EExtensionPublishedAgentSessionCommandsAndPrompt -count=1 -v
  • mise exec -- golangci-lint run ./internal/daemon/... ./internal/tools/... ./internal/api/spec/...
  • mise exec -- make codegen-check
  • mise exec -- make build
  • COMPOZY_TEST_DAEMON_BIN="$PWD/bin/compozy" make test-e2e-runtime
  • make gate-full on the original implementation commit (full pass CURRENT, fingerprint 2b8a405a833017adc6d7e0e11de9e951da2739bc)
  • Isolated managed-provider QA with strict evidence audit and teardown clean: true; see docs/qa/reports/2026-08-13-extension-agent-session-skills.md.

Web regression note: the full Web E2E run completed 138 tests with 3 expected skips and one E2E-023 50 ms performance-threshold failure. The same failure reproduced twice on the clean base with byte-identical production bundles, so it is recorded as a pre-existing environment-sensitive canary rather than a regression from this backend/schema change.

Closes #370

Summary by CodeRabbit

  • New Features

    • Added clearer diagnostics and a dedicated error classification for unavailable configuration paths.
    • Improved skill discovery for extension and session agents, including fallback resolution.
    • Enhanced extension integration coverage for prompt catalogs, hosted tools, and tool error responses.
  • Bug Fixes

    • Corrected reporting when requested configuration paths are missing.
    • Improved agent-based skill lookup reliability across supported scenarios.

Walkthrough

The daemon now shares session agent projection resolution across prompt augmentation, native skill tools, and command catalogs. Extension agents retain their skills. Configuration reads use a dedicated missing-path reason code. Tests cover unit, integration, and end-to-end behavior.

This change makes extension-published agents resolve session skills consistently and gives missing configuration paths a deterministic reason code; no actionable merge-blocking risk remains based on the supplied evidence.

28-46: 📐 Maintainability & Code Quality | 🔵 Trivial | 💤 Low value

Return the zero value on error paths.

The function returns projection next to non-nil errors. Today every byName implementation returns nil with its error, so behavior is correct. If a future byName returns partial data with an error, that data reaches callers that only check the error later. Returning an explicit zero value removes that risk.

Review-check clarification:

  • config_path_not_found is present in the canonical Go enum, openapi/compozy.json, and the generated web/src/generated/compozy-openapi.d.ts. The generated TypeScript file is intentionally excluded from CodeRabbit line review by .coderabbit.yaml, which explains the Linked Issues warning; make codegen-check and CI preflight verify the generated contract.
  • The new production resolver symbols are package-private Go helpers. The public ReasonConfigPathNotFound constant has its required doc comment; exported-symbol lint remains the project authority for Go documentation coverage.

The latest CodeRabbit review on c19508ca is approved, and there are no unresolved review threads.

CI E2E failure triage (no code change recommended in this PR):

The combined E2E lane failed on two Web tests, both reproduced on the exact main base commit 887e6ee6 in main CI run 31705818490:

  • jobs-hardening.spec.ts:339: both runs timed out after daemon restart with Expected: "/jobs", Received: "".
  • E2E-023: main measured 83ms and this PR measured 87ms against the same hard 50ms frame threshold. Local paired baseline/branch runs had already reproduced this threshold failure on main with byte-identical Web bundles.

The PR changes no Jobs route, shell performance code, or Web runtime code beyond the generated OpenAPI reason-code enum. All 137 other Web E2Es passed, as did the full Go race suites, build, lint, codegen, and focused hosted-MCP/config regressions. This appears to be the same pre-existing runner/restart and performance-canary instability rather than a regression from #372.

I cannot rerun the upstream job because GitHub requires repository admin rights for this workflow run.

Extension-published agents lose session skills and config_get misclassifies missing paths
