Root cause

Cursor model discovery normalized the ACP-advertised descriptor into a non-advertised alias. That alias could be selected and persisted, then reached session admission after at-most-once dispatch state had been committed.

Solution

Discover Cursor models through its live ACP session configuration options and preserve the exact advertised value end to end.
Validate requested Cursor model IDs against exact live ACP membership before create and prompt dispatch commit, so rejected aliases remain retryable.
Preserve the native Cursor default when no model is selected and retain the Claude-only transport exception.
Reject empty configured default agents during configuration validation.

Tests and QA

go test -race -count=1 ./internal/config ./internal/cli ./internal/modelcatalog ./internal/session — 3,802 tests passed in 4 packages.
Canonical focused suites also covered ACP option membership, catalog reconciliation, create/prompt admission and retry, and runtime selection persistence.
Real QA scenarios passed across CLI, HTTP API, native tools, prompt retry, native default, and web selection/persistence. Teardown recorded clean=true with no survivors.
The complete make gate-full is intentionally left for CI, per the current execution direction.

Compozy Impact Audit

Native tools: model catalog and session native-tool paths now expose and accept only exact ACP Cursor descriptors; native default remains supported and the descriptor contract was QA-verified.
Extensibility and hooks: Cursor ACP session configuration is the live catalog source; provider config validation rejects empty defaults. No hooks, extension registries, bridge SDKs, or MCP sidecars changed.
Workspace data isolation: selected runtime data remains session-scoped. Existing CLI, HTTP, UDS, core, store, web, SSE, cache, and event workspace propagation is unchanged; no new workspace-scoped datum was introduced.
