What this PR does

Bumps the vendored ouroboros chart and controller image in packages/system/ouroboros from 0.7.2 to 0.8.0.

v0.8.0 makes the in-cluster TCP proxy log an explicit reason when its backend readiness check fails, instead of staying silently NotReady. That silent failure mode is what makes a mispointed proxy backend hard to diagnose, so the upgrade pays off the moment the target is wrong. The bump also carries the v0.7.3 migration of the kubectl helper sidecar image off Docker Hub to mirror.gcr.io, sidestepping anonymous pull rate-limits on shared CI/runner IP ranges.

The chart manifest and controller image are re-pinned by digest in lockstep with the version, and the image-pin test fixture is updated to match. No values structure changed; cozystack-side overrides need no adaptation.

Release note

feat(ouroboros): bump ouroboros to v0.8.0 — the hairpin-NAT proxy now logs an explicit reason when its backend readiness check fails instead of staying silently NotReady, and the kubectl helper sidecar is pulled via mirror.gcr.io to avoid Docker Hub rate limits

Summary by CodeRabbit

  • Chores
    • Upgraded Ouroboros component from version 0.7.2 to 0.8.0, including updated container image digests.
    • Updated registry mirror configuration to improve image pull reliability and avoid rate-limiting issues.

Review Change Stack

v0.8.0 makes the TCP proxy log an explicit reason when its backend
readiness check fails, instead of staying silently NotReady. That
silent failure mode is exactly what makes a mispointed proxy backend
hard to diagnose, so the upgrade pays off the moment the target is
wrong. The bump also carries the v0.7.3 migration of the kubectl
sidecar image off Docker Hub to mirror.gcr.io, sidestepping anonymous
pull rate-limits on shared CI/runner IPs.

Chart manifest and controller image are re-pinned by digest in lockstep
with the version, and the image-pin test fixture is updated to match.

Summary of Changes

Hello, I'm Gemini Code Assist1! I'm currently reviewing this pull request and will post my feedback shortly. In the meantime, here's a summary to help you and other reviewers quickly get up to speed!

This pull request performs a routine version bump for the ouroboros system component. By updating to v0.8.0, the system gains better diagnostic capabilities for proxy backend failures and improves image pull reliability by leveraging a container registry mirror for the helper sidecar.

Highlights

  • Version Upgrade: Updated the vendored ouroboros chart and controller image from version 0.7.2 to 0.8.0.
  • Improved Diagnostics: The upgrade introduces explicit logging for backend readiness check failures in the TCP proxy, improving observability.
  • Infrastructure Reliability: Updated the kubectl helper sidecar to pull from mirror.gcr.io, mitigating potential Docker Hub rate-limiting issues.

Code Review

This pull request updates the ouroboros system package to version 0.8.0. It bumps the chart version and digest in the Makefile, and updates the corresponding image tag and digest in values.yaml and the test suite. There are no review comments, and the changes look correct and complete, so I have no feedback to provide.

Important

The consumer version of Gemini Code Assist on GitHub is being sunset. Starting June 18, 2026, new organization installations will be blocked, and all code review activity will officially cease on July 17, 2026.
