NOT LGTM. The deletion is right, but the gap you say the new test closes was already covered, and that claim carries a third of the PR.
oidc_test.yaml:133 already pins the whole rendered document set of oidc-keycloak.yaml in System mode: hasDocuments: count: 2, plus kind at index 0 and index 1. A KeycloakRealmGroup coming out of that template has to either push the count past two or take one of those two slots. Either way that case goes red.
I checked both directions on your branch. Appending a KeycloakRealmGroup document to the System branch gives 49 green and 2 red: your new case, and case 133 on hasDocuments (expected 2, got 3). Rewriting kind: KeycloakClientScope to kind: KeycloakRealmGroup, which keeps the count at two, reddens the same two. The template only reads mode, clientId, scopeName, clientSecretName and grafanaHost, so the oidc.users you set and 133 doesn't cannot change what renders. Baseline is 51 green.
So two assertions were theirs alone, not three. Worth fixing in the body and in the commit message, because this PR is the record that justifies closing the porting item and that record goes into git log. Keeping the new case is fine by me, since naming KeycloakRealmGroup outright says something an index-based kind pin doesn't, but describe it as making an existing guarantee explicit. Your conclusion about the tracked item gets stronger, not weaker.
Two smaller things. Four places still say the directory holds files, and this commit empties it: hack/cozytest.sh:164, hack/cozytest-capture-gate.bats:178, docs/agents/e2e-testing.md:90, and hack/bats-no-exit-trap.bats:574, which says it "already holds two" and uses that as the reason the audit recurses into subdirectories. The rules stay correct, only the counts are stale. And the comment at oidc_test.yaml:187 points at a file this commit deletes, so grepping the path finds nothing.
The red E2E doesn't look like yours. mariadb fails at wait-helmrelease-ready with Ready=Unknown, and the events show mariadb-test-1 failing its startup probe with HTTP 500 and getting restarted, so the release never converges. mariadb-single passed in the same run. Another pull request from the same day with an identical suite selection had both mariadb suites green and kubernetes-latest / kubernetes-previous red instead. Nothing has touched the mariadb package or its suite since mid-August. It shows red rather than soft-green because the lane only tolerates the node-join deadline, and this isn't that.

Addendum to my review above. I went back over the directory references and undercounted: there are six present-tense comment sites, not four, and the point is sharper than stale wording.
The two I missed are hack/select-e2e.sh:357 ("even though what remains here is wired to nothing after the Chainsaw migration") and hack/select-e2e_test.bats:509-513 ("what is left here is wired to nothing today", and "the orphan status of the files that happen to remain").
Those sentences are the only thing justifying five code paths this commit leaves with nothing to act on: the hack/e2e-apps/* arm in select-e2e.sh, its two test cases, and the directory arm of the capture-arming case in cozytest.sh, which after this change no bats file in the tree can reach. Keeping them as a forward-looking guard is the right call and I am not asking you to remove them. The problem is that the reason for keeping them now rests on sentences a reader cannot check: grep the path, find nothing, and you cannot tell whether the branch is stale or the comment is.
The PR body inherits it. "The comment there already explains why it is mapped rather than marked inert" cites select-e2e.sh:357, and that comment's premise is exactly what the same commit removes.
Past tense fixes all six. hack/bats-no-exit-trap.bats:574 reads worst as it stands, since "already holds two" is now a wrong number and the two it counts are the two you delete.
One more, minor. oidc.users in the new case's set: block is inert: oidc-keycloak.yaml reads oidc.mode and _cluster.oidc-enabled and nothing else, so the render is identical with or without it. It mirrors the deleted BATS scenario, which is a fine reason to keep it, but nothing says so and the next reader has to diff the template to find out.

NOT LGTM. The deletion is right and the orphan claim holds, but two of the assertions these files made alone land nowhere, and the body still carries the sentence I asked you to fix last round.
I checked the orphan status instead of taking it from the description. At dc9c2f7ce^ neither filename appears anywhere outside hack/e2e-apps/ itself. BATS_UNIT_FILES := $(filter-out hack/e2e-%.bats,$(wildcard hack/*.bats)) is a flat wildcard, and packages/core/testing/Makefile names e2e-prepare-cluster, e2e-prepare-cluster-container, e2e-install-cozystack and e2e-test-openapi one by one, so neither lane can reach a subdirectory. Everything from the last round landed: six comments in past tense, the new case no longer cites a path this commit deletes, and the inert oidc.users is gone from its set: block. The new case itself holds up in both directions. Appending a document reddens it, and emptying the System branch reddens it through the KeycloakClient positive control instead of leaving it green on an empty render.
Two assertions were theirs alone and nothing covers them now.
oidc-keycloak.yaml writes protocolMapper: "oidc-audience-mapper" as a bare literal and the deleted System suite asserted that value. The unit suite pins metadata.name and config["included.client.audience"] on document 0 and never the mapper itself. Rewrite the literal to oidc-hardcoded-claim-mapper and all 52 stay green. included.client.audience is a config key of the audience mapper, so under any other mapper Keycloak ignores it and the id_token.aud pin disappears with nothing red. That pin is what the chart header calls the per-instance isolation primitive.
OIDC_MODE on the users-Job is the other one. The deleted suite asserted System; the unit suite asserts that env only in the CustomConfig case at oidc_test.yaml:617. Render it as None in System mode and all 52 stay green, while oidc-users-job.yaml:208 gates the reconcile on [ "$OIDC_MODE" != "None" ], so the Job runs and does nothing. Both fixes are one assertion each, in the file this PR already has open.
The body still reads "This one was a real gap: oidc-keycloak.yaml states it in a comment and nothing checked it", and the heading below the table still says three. The commit message and the new case's comment both say the opposite now, correctly. Appending a KeycloakRealmGroup to the System branch reddens two cases, the new one and oidc_test.yaml:133, which pins hasDocuments: count: 2. Worth fixing because the body is what the "close the porting item rather than assign it" recommendation rests on, and it is the one place a maintainer reads before acting on that.
Two smaller things, neither blocking. oidc_test.yaml:219 pins the client secret at 32 bytes through the base64 length but says nothing about its alphabet, where the deleted suite pinned ^[A-Za-z0-9]+$ on the decoded value; randAlphaNum 32 makes that true today and no test holds it. And the aggregated API admitting Monitoring.spec.oidc.mode has no live check anywhere, since there is no monitoring suite under hack/e2e-chainsaw/ and the kubernetes-* suites drive a different ApplicationDefinition, so "a broken schema reddens every suite, not this one" holds for a wholesale break. It does not hold for a narrowing of this app's enum. The delta is still zero while nothing runs the files.
The red E2E is not yours. Four backup roundtrips failed, redis, rabbitmq, postgres and mongodb, each on a BackupJob reaching terminal Failed instead of Succeeded. Nothing in this diff reaches the backup path: it is two deleted suites nothing ran, comment-only edits in four hack files and one doc, and a single helm unit case.
The two pre-Chainsaw monitoring OIDC suites have had no invocation site since the app suite migrated to Chainsaw. Remove them instead of carrying dead tests that force the selector to run every live suite. Keep the existing selector and capture guards for the historical path shape, and update their comments now that the directory is empty. Retain a named chart assertion for the no-KeycloakRealmGroup ownership invariant; the existing count and kind assertions already enforce the same behavior. Assisted-By: LLM Signed-off-by: Myasnikov Daniil <[email protected]>
Rendering the inner chart alone cannot catch a wrapper dropping tenant OIDC settings. The audience mapper and System-mode reconcile flag also need assertions before the unused live suites are removed. Assisted-By: LLM Signed-off-by: Myasnikov Daniil <[email protected]>
Nested monitoring suites remained unexecuted after their runner was removed. Audit both runner inventories so missing invocations and stale suite paths fail in the unit lane. Make-variable arguments must be reported even when their values hide the file suffix. Assisted-By: LLM Signed-off-by: Myasnikov Daniil <[email protected]>

Do not count runner text in shell comments.
brc_code_lines removes only whole-line comments. brc_named_suites then scans every tab-led recipe and extracts hack/cozytest.sh from anywhere in the line. A recipe such as @true # hack/cozytest.sh hack/e2e-apps/orphan.bats therefore adds the orphan to _reach although the shell does not execute it. Strip inline shell comments before extraction and add this case to the fixtures.

myasnikovdaniil LGTM. Both assertions I asked for last time are in and each one catches the regression it is there for. The body now describes the KeycloakRealmGroup case correctly, and the runner audit fails the way it says it does.
Business context: the two monitoring OIDC BATS suites had no runner after the Chainsaw migration, so this deletes them, moves the assertions only they made into the helm unit suites, and adds a unit-lane check so a BATS file with no runner cannot go unnoticed again.
I repeated last round's mutations on this head. Rewriting protocolMapper to oidc-hardcoded-claim-mapper in oidc-keycloak.yaml now reds one case, and so does rendering OIDC_MODE as None in System mode. Before, both left every case green. The new wrapper case also reds when helmrelease.yaml stops passing oidc through. Counts match the body: 53 system and 10 wrapper.
The deletion commit is unchanged apart from the rebase. A lot of e2e harness work landed on main since then, so I checked it again on current main. Neither filename appears outside the two deleted files, and packages/core/testing/Makefile still names only the four bootstrap and OpenAPI suites.
The audit reds on the defects it describes. With the two deleted suites put back it fails and names both. Dropping the e2e-test-openapi.bats line from the e2e Makefile fails with that file named. With the unit glob narrowed and the reach match forced to miss, the model check and four audit cases go red, positive controls included. It passes 12/12 under Bats 1.14.0 and under hack/cozytest.sh, and the unit job on this head ran it. It adds no trap and no retry, cleans up at the end of each test body, and bats-no-exit-trap.bats stays green.
Non-blocking:
- Both CodeRabbit findings on the audit are real, I reproduced them. A recipe like
true # hack/cozytest.sh hack/e2e-test-openapi.batsstill counts as a runner, because only whole-line comments are stripped. A secondBATS_UNIT_FILES :=that narrows the set leaves the model check green, because it only greps for the first assignment. Both need someone to write an odd Makefile, so a follow-up is fine. - #3802 landed on main after my last review. It added two sentences to
hack/run-kubernetes-install-wait_test.bats, at lines 107 and 1564, sayinghack/e2e-apps/is "a live lane of its own" that holds.batssuites. After this merges the directory is gone. It is the same kind of sentence you moved to past tense in the other six places. - The body of 16d23c8 says the assertions are needed "before the unused live suites are removed". In history the removal is c55ab26, the commit before it, and with merge commits that order lands in main as written.
…4023) ## What this PR does This PR turns off monitoring instance of root tenant in e2e install and removes waits on it. Install patched root tenant with `monitoring: true` and then waited up to 15m each on vmalert and vmalertmanager, `vlclusters/generic`, shortterm and longterm vmclusters, `grafana-db` CNPG cluster and grafana deployment, but nothing in the run looks at any of it. No chainsaw suite touches tenant-root monitoring objects. Only one that mentions monitoring is `foundationdb`, it asserts `WorkloadMonitor` whose CRD comes from `cozystack-controller` and exists without monitoring stack. Monitoring OIDC wiring is covered by `packages/system/monitoring/tests/oidc_test.yaml` since #4019 removed orphaned BATS suites. Kubernetes suites run with `monitoringAgents.enabled: false` and tracing is off by default (`tracingStorages` is empty), so they don't depend on this instance either. Those waits were not free. Monitoring stack competes with rest of install for node capacity, and removed block own comment said slow victorialogs start can fail install on PR that never touched monitoring - that's why it was moved to 15m budget. ### What stays Monitoring package stays installed, because `tenant-application` has `dependsOn cozystack.monitoring-application` and without the package platform release is never resolved. Only tenant-root instance is off. Container lane `logsStorages` override for victorialogs also stays. It does nothing while monitoring is off, but keeps a run that turns monitoring back on from creating immutable replicated PVC on lane that has only `local`. Its comment, paragraph in `docs/agents/e2e-testing.md` and comment on Install step env in `pull-requests.yaml` now say that instead of calling root monitoring install-time workload. ### What is lost `curl` through `root-ingress-controller` with `Host: grafana.example.org`, it was the only check that root ingress actually routes to backend. Grafana was the target just because it was installed. Moving it to seaweedfs host needs expected response checked on live stand first, so it's tracked in #4615. ### Savings Not measured. The happy path never spent the 15m budgets, so what this returns is real bring-up time of the stack plus tail risk, and only CI runs can show how much it is. ### Screenshots Not a UI change. ### Downstream repositories - [x] No downstream repository is affected by this change - [ ] [cozystack/website](https://github.com/cozystack/website) - follow-up: - [ ] [cozystack/terraform-provider-cozystack](https://github.com/cozystack/terraform-provider-cozystack) - follow-up: - [ ] [cozystack/ansible-cozystack](https://github.com/cozystack/ansible-cozystack) - follow-up: - [ ] [cozystack/ccp](https://github.com/cozystack/ccp) - follow-up: - [ ] [cozystack/talm](https://github.com/cozystack/talm) - follow-up: - [ ] [cozystack/cozyhr](https://github.com/cozystack/cozyhr) - follow-up: - [ ] [cozystack/cozy-proxy](https://github.com/cozystack/cozy-proxy) - follow-up: - [ ] [cozystack/cozystack-telemetry-server](https://github.com/cozystack/cozystack-telemetry-server) - follow-up: - [ ] [cozystack/external-apps-example](https://github.com/cozystack/external-apps-example) - follow-up: - [ ] [cozystack/examples](https://github.com/cozystack/examples) - follow-up: - [ ] [cozystack/community](https://github.com/cozystack/community) - follow-up: ### Release note ```release-note NONE ```
What this PR does
I removed the two monitoring OIDC BATS suites that had no runner after the Chainsaw migration, and brought the runner audit and wrapper OIDC test from #3778.
Also added checks for audience mapper and
OIDC_MODE=System. The namedKeycloakRealmGrouptest documents coverage the document-count and kind assertions already provided.Runner audit reports unused BATS suites, missing files in runner paths, and unresolved Make variables (including
$(E2E_SUITE)).Live Monitoring API admission, Grafana operator reconciliation and mode transitions are not tested here.
