    Looks like that was a really old version of Flutter. Can you try running this on a modern version? Do you still see it?

    cc @xster @InMatrix @liyuqian Can any of your reproduce this? It seems like the common thread between all the duplicates is Windows machines in the zh-CN locale.

    Hi, I suffered a crash, and the error message told me to post a message on this bug. I was pulling data from an open api, and cities from certain countries had characters that consistently blow up the jsondecode method. Here's the data that might be helpful to you. It would be nice not to hard crash on this. Try/catch doesn't stop it from closing the application. I'm experimenting with Flutter Web.

    @KarnerTh Well, after a bit of playing around with it I got it to work.
    But it doesn't feel like a normal web TextField, did you change anything in the code?

    Thanks for all the recent reports, they're very helpful. They seem to be new cases (none are in the chinese locale) so if you would like us to investigate them please do file a new bug for those. In general I suspect for most of the recent reports the problem is that the application is outputting invalid UTF-8 to the console.
