I think, it‘s no duplicate though. The issue you‘ve referenced is about custom menu items.
I‘ve found a maybe better matching issue and asked about my problem and got the answer to open up a new issue (#35826 (comment)).This issue here is not about custom controls, but the existing controls overflowing and looking ugly because the font size seems to have no boundaries (while the native menu items have a minimum and maximum font size).
The pull request was not about the font size.
I believe the font size of the hardcoded Flutter menu needs bounds (a minimum and maximum font size, like the native iOS menu).

Don't you think that text overflowing by default at something basic as text selection controls should and could be avoided in Flutter?
This probably affects every Flutter iOS app with a text field and a font size larger than regular.
The few likes in this issue are maybe because few developers manually test this aspect of the UI, so this issue won't get priority anytime soon.Yes I absolutely agree. It's a major goal of mine to prevent text inconsistencies like this in Flutter. Currently my plan is to get #73578 merged and then see if/how that affects this issue, because it also changes some internals about how the menu is rendered. Then, it seems like we've also just discovered a regression in CupertinoButton which could be affecting this issue (#73681). That regression should get fixed, and then maybe it will fix this too. If not, then we should probably look into fixing this directly and implementing a min/max font size like you suggested.
If you or anyone else wants to take a closer look at this now though, I'm happy to review the PR.
I also encountered the same problem, tried the following solution, the problem still exists
buttonTheme:ButtonThemeData(minWidth: 5), textTheme: TextTheme(button: TextStyle(fontSize: 10)),On my iPhone X, there is no clipping any more (maybe it would clip on a smaller display, like the first iPhone SE).
But now the text is not vertically centered:

For small iOS font sizes it looks weird (small letter spacing and small font size) and for large iOS font sizes the text doesn't fit.
Below are screenshots (iPhone X simulator) of the flutter app and the system menu for comparison.
iOS itself doesn't go below or above a certain font size, Flutter does (I probably just don't find where to set the correct textStyle?).
