- added this to the First release of Git for Windows generated using the new SDK milestone
on Oct 14, 2014 @sschuberth I hope you do not mind that I added this ticket and assigned it to you. I just wanted a little more in the way of a public roadmap to which we can point interested parties. That is also the reason why I added the milestone.
@dscho That's fine.
@sschuberth BTW you might be interested in the fact that there is a way to turn GitHub issues into GitHub pull requests:
curl --netrc -X POST --data \ '{"issue": "'<number>'", "head": "<refname>'", "base": "'"master"'", "head_sha": "'<SHA-1>'", "base_sha": "<SHA-1>"}' \ https://api.github.com/repos/<ORG>/<REPO>/pullsI am looking for the binary release for git for windows
@lygstate there is no release yet.
This work has been done by @sschuberth, merged in git-for-windows/MSYS2-packages#7
@dscho My PR you're referring to is for an SDK installer. However, the title of this issue sounds as if it was about an end-user installer for the MSYS2-based Git for Windows. Then again, this issue is labelled "sdk". Can you please clarify by either adjust the title or the label of this issue?
Whoops, I misread this ticket.
Really need the installer,

Really need the installer,Yonggang Lou,
Which aretfact are you wanting an installer for ?
A. The run time Git for Windows for V2.0 or newer
B. The run time for the older 'Git for Windows' at V1.9.5 + maintenance releases
C. the Software Development Kit (SDK) to help develop the new release of >V2.x.x
D. the Development Environment for the older 'Git for Windows' aka MsysGit?Option B (latest) was released a few days ago. [1]
Option D is still available. [2]
Option C is possible[1] https://github.com/msysgit/git/releases/tag/v1.9.5.msysgit.1 is the
corresponding source code release. Binaries are available from
https://github.com/msysgit/msysgit/releases/tag/Git-1.9.5-preview20150319.

Most likely, a lot of https://github.com/msysgit/msysgit/tree/master/share/WinGit can be scavenged to make this happen.
