One possible implementation of a data flag has been submitted in #19367 . Another is CircuitPython's, which is mature so might be easier to look at porting theirs over.
That could work. We have 32MB heap on the N6 and a scan of it can hiccup for like 250 ms.
Description
There was talk of a data flag which could be added to GC blocks to improve performance on GC scan. Looking for performance enhancements here. Wanted to write it down as an actual request.
