I have implemented simple font size scaling as framebuf_text_scaled

usage from python size x 4
framebuf.text_scaled('Ab', 0, 26, 4)

Perhaps because there is a way to render arbitrary fonts to a frame buffer?

that removes the STATIC macro from MicroPython's C API.

A search suggests this PR might apply the STATIC macro to some C code. If it
does, then next time you rebase the PR (or merge from master) then you should
please replace all the STATIC keywords with static.

There is a newer (but still quite old) PR #6263 which implements the same functionality with a smaller footprint, so I'm going to close this PR in favour of that one.
