Why isn't
https://limewire.com/part of the list too?Why should it be?
IDK, if the entire
S{nap, hare}Dropdomains are blocked because of LW, then this implies LW is somehow a bigger threat? 🤔Reacted by Κριστιάν3β and LYLimeWire taking over P2P file sharing sites is misleading. It is not clear you're uploading files to their servers. They haven't linked their terms and privacy policy.
At least on the LimeWire website itself they say that you must agree to their terms and privacy policy when uploading files. They also show a size limit and prominently upsell. This suggests you're uploading files to their servers.
But I would argue that LimeWire being called LimeWire is misleading in itself. LimeWire was the famous P2P file sharing app. For its name to be used by a file host company tricks people. Especially when they're taking over P2P file sharing sites.

I don't mean I disagree that it should be added to the list

limewire.com. According toarchive.orgthe original LimeWire project went offline around 2015 and a long time has passed since then (10 years).Reacted by Ricardo Fernández SerrataNo way I found out about this through a GitHub issue. For anybody looking for an alternative I recommend
pairdrop.netIt is a fork of sharedrop that is currently being maintained!Reacted by Ricardo Fernández Serrata, NexusXP, jakubiakdev, Krzysztof Leśniak, Version Kinda, Ben, CyberLykan, ueen, LY and KhlomaI would also like to point out that clicking Snapdrop's "About" and then "FAQ" button leads to a page that says that the files are not uploaded to the server, but the main view of the website still sends your files to Limewire. Very shady and should absolutely be blocked.

used to be a well-known peer2peer local, open source file share service, now the whole site was bought out by LimeWire and now just redirects all functionalities to LimeWire's shitty CLOUD BASED service that also promotes a crypto scam.
