What is Keiko League?

Keiko League records practice bouts both partners confirm — then updates an Elo rating and club leaderboard. It is built for mat sports where a private training diary is not enough: you and your partner agree the result via QR check-in. New accounts start with 50 free credits (one credit per confirmed bout). After that, buy packs or Unlimited inside each sport league.

Whether you train sumo, judo, or Brazilian jiu-jitsu, Keiko League turns everyday practice into a record you can trust and a ladder you can climb. Every confirmed bout moves your rating, updates your club leaderboard, and unlocks achievements for consistency, variety, and wins.

What you can do in Keiko League

Run a QR session with a partner or a small group session, then confirm results together. Every recorded bout updates ratings from a shared outcome — simple, fast, and trustworthy for coaches and athletes in sumo, judo, and BJJ.

Each sport has its own live leaderboard, recent bouts feed, and athlete profiles with rating history, record stats, and achievements. Elo movement reflects outcomes over time; activity context shows whether a rank sits on consistent recent training or only a few bouts.

Referral invites and Stripe credit top-ups support active clubs. From first check-in to confirmed result and updated rankings, each sport keeps its own workflow and database.

How Keiko League works

  1. Start a session. Create a free account, then show your QR code to your training partner or send them your invite link.
  2. Both confirm the result. Each of you reports the winner. When your two reports match, the bout is recorded — no disputes, no editing history.
  3. Your Elo updates. The confirmed result moves your rating, your club leaderboard position, and — across the league — your sport's global ranking.
  4. Build a record. Progress bars, head-to-head rivalries, weekly streaks, and badges reward showing up and improving over time.

Why athletes and clubs choose Keiko League

How ratings and leaderboards work

Keiko League uses an Elo-style rating. Your rating changes only after both athletes confirm the same result, so every number on a leaderboard traces back to a bout two people agreed on. Beat a higher-rated opponent and you gain more; lose to a lower-rated opponent and you drop more. Rankings also apply an activity adjustment, so a rank reflects recent, consistent training rather than a handful of old bouts.

Public by choice: your profile and leaderboard position are public by default, and you can opt out of public visibility at any time from your profile.

Frequently asked questions

What is Keiko League?

Keiko League is a training league for mat sports. You and a training partner record a bout, both confirm the result, and the app turns it into an Elo rating, a club leaderboard, and achievements. It covers sumo, judo, and Brazilian jiu-jitsu.

Do I need a training partner?

Yes. Every bout is confirmed by both people, which is exactly what makes the record trustworthy. One person starts a session and shares a QR code or link; when both reports match, the bout is recorded.

Which sports does Keiko League support?

Sumo, judo, and Brazilian jiu-jitsu. Each sport has its own league, its own terminology (keiko and banzuke, randori and dojo, rolls and academy), its own leaderboard, and its own data.

Is it free to start?

Yes. New accounts start with 50 free credits, and one credit is used per confirmed bout you take part in. After that you can buy credit packs or go Unlimited for a monthly price.

How is this different from a private training diary?

A diary is self-reported, so it can't settle a disputed result or compare you fairly with anyone else. Keiko League records results that both partners agree, then rates every confirmed bout and ranks the whole club.

Who runs Keiko League?

Keiko League was created and is supported by Lance Wicks. All profits from the site currently go to EnglandSumo.
