PNC Asset Management Chief Investment Officer Amanda Agati tells Bloomberg This Weekend that strong corporate fundamentals and resilient consumer spending could support US stocks as investors head into third-quarter earnings season. Speaking with hosts David Gura and Christina Ruffini, Agati says investors will be watching for evidence that AI investment is generating returns beyond the largest technology companies, while strong US earnings growth keeps her favoring domestic equities over developed international markets.

Russian President Vladimir Putin conveyed Tehran's view on a possible resolution of the Iran conflict to U.S. President Donald Trump, Russian state media reported. The report comes a day after Trump said Russia will supply diesel to the global market amid a surge in energy prices caused by the wars in Iran and Ukraine.

The U.S. Supreme Court heard a case this week in which a former Intel employee alleged company retirement-plan fiduciaries breached their duty by investing in hedge funds and private equity, pointing in part to the funds' underperformance. Lower courts already rejected the claims, ruling underperformance alone is not enough without showing a "meaningful benchmark" for courts to assess performance.
