Heidelberg in the hands of Cheerleaders

On the first weekend of July, the European Championships in Cheerleading took place at the Olympic Center in Heidelberg. More than 1,600 athletes from all over Europe fought for the title in four age groups.
The largest field of participants on the championship came from Germany, followed by Great Britain. Many other countries had not filled all 35 categories in which they could win the title of European champion. Therefore, most champions at the age of 16 represented Germany, followed by Great Britain with 13 newly crowned European champions. In third place in the medal table was Ukraine with two European champions and three silver medals.
On both days, Cheerleading and Cheerdance were switched. On Saturday, the teams of the age groups minis and seniors showed their skills, on Sunday then juniors and masters. The category masters does not exist in many countries, it describes an age group in which all athletes must be at least 25 years old.
The hall of the Olympic Center was pleasingly well attended on both days. Due to the many spectators, the atmosphere on both days was extremely good. Many fans not only cheered for the teams from their own countries.
Japan and Cambodia Strengthen Ties Through Cheerleading

On Friday 24th May 2019, a "Cheerleading Wear Handover Ceremony" was held at Norton University in Phnom Penh, Cambodia with the presence of H.E. Yuok Ngoy, Secretary of State, Ministry of Education, Youth and Sport, H.E. Mr. Hidehisa Horinouchi, Ambassador of Japan as well as the President of the Japan Cheerleading Association and International Federation of Cheerleading, Mr. Setsuo Nakamura and the President of Cambodian Federation of Cheerleading, Prof. Chan Sok Khieng.
Over 70 pairs of cheerleading shoes and other cheerleading wear were handed over to the Cambodian Federation of Cheerleading by the Japan Cheerleading Association.
European Cheerleading Association sets up for the future in Barcelona - Liudmila Zueva new president

Barcelona - The European Cheerleading Association has set the course for the future at its annual general meeting and has elected Russian citizen Liudmila Zueva as the new president of the European Cheerleading Association in the Catalan metropolis.
“As newly elected ECA President the focus of my work is developing the sport of cheerleading and well-being of our athletes,” the new president said after her election.
As Vice-President, the 18 voting delegates elected the Italian Marco Tomasini.
AFVD President Robert Huber was voted unopposed as secretary and board member. The 49-year-old lawyer is also president of the German Cheerleading Association, Senior Vice-President of the IFC and successfully organized the Cheerleading World Championship in 2009 and 2015.
