If AI labs are hiding major math breakthroughs to avoid backlash, that is deeply immoral. We’re in a major democratic debate over AI. Disclosing achievements needn’t expose trade secrets. We need total honesty: hiding this gives us reason to fear what else they’re hiding.

Many Republicans dismiss warnings that AI could kill everyone because they feel deceived by earlier campaigns against supposed existential risks. Climate change was never going to kill many Americans, yet fears of it were forced on American schoolchildren, used as ammunition

Republicans are the pro-life party. If there's even a small chance AI labs are telling the truth when they say their products could exterminate humanity, Republicans must support slowing down AI. We're not just talking about saving unborn children, but all children.

I might be grasping at straws here, but if Trump really wanted an AI treaty with China, a good starting negotiating position would be saying that he wants the US to go all in and win the AI race.
