I stand with the families of Flight 5342 who have spent almost two years fighting for comprehensive aviation safety legislation. It’s long past time that Congress acted. We need to make our skies safer so this tragedy never happens again.

I met with AI industry leaders, who warned that we urgently needed commonsense AI safeguards. That meeting was ten years ago. Congress needs to stop talking and start acting NOW.

Today, we remember those who lost their lives on 9/11 25 years ago, and the brave first responders and servicemembers who risked their lives to be on the scene. We should also never forget the servicemembers who showed up to the Pentagon after it was hit and exposed themselves
