Add herdr bridge v0.3.3 to the community extension catalog so headless CompozyOS agents and Loops appear as herdr rows with live session events and pane cleanup.

The package is based on upstream v0.3.3 (c8b2b70bee398c9220e930b7f2dab38c96603994) with review fixes in this catalog copy: transient herdr outages preserve mappings, missing workspace IDs resolve through the session-owner API, spool ordering retains nanosecond precision, payload files are private, state recovery retains queued hooks, and terminal control characters are escaped while message whitespace remains intact. Shared persistence and loop handling are separate modules below 500 lines; source documentation and diagnostics are English. The deterministic archive and pinned digest include these changes.

Validation includes 12 Python runtime regressions in catalog CI, production catalog installation, and a real daemon/herdr lifecycle walk with clean teardown. make gate now classifies catalog changes and runs the corresponding installer/runtime checks; existing gate integration tests cover classification and isolate fixture capacity locks from concurrent outer gates.

Cross-surface impact: no CLI verbs, API routes, native tool schemas, hook contracts, config keys, or persisted map shapes change. Catalog metadata remains global; session reads retain authoritative workspace ownership. The package README and docs/qa/scenarios/ET-herdr-bridge-runtime.md document the behavior. Web and the official Compozy skill retain their existing contracts.

Layer / File(s) Summary
Bridge state and session management
catalog/packages/herdr-bridge/LICENSE, catalog/packages/herdr-bridge/bridge.py, catalog/packages/herdr-bridge/bridge_state.py, catalog/packages/herdr-bridge/tests/test_bridge.py
The bridge adds private locked state, herdr transport, pane lifecycle helpers, session filtering, state consolidation, recovery behavior, command handling, and failure logging.
Hook ingestion and terminal rendering
catalog/packages/herdr-bridge/hook.sh, catalog/packages/herdr-bridge/bridge.py, catalog/packages/herdr-bridge/colorize.py, catalog/packages/herdr-bridge/tests/test_bridge.py
The hook writes private atomic spool files. The bridge drains events in timestamp order. The renderer escapes terminal control characters and reports rendering errors.
Loop lifecycle and reconciliation
catalog/packages/herdr-bridge/bridge_loops.py, catalog/packages/herdr-bridge/bridge.py, catalog/packages/herdr-bridge/tests/test_bridge.py
The bridge creates loop panes, applies loop events, reports metadata, reconciles authoritative statuses, and watches active loop rows.
Session event tailing
catalog/packages/herdr-bridge/tail.py, catalog/packages/herdr-bridge/tests/test_bridge.py
The tailer resolves missing workspace ownership, polls sequence-scoped events, retries without advancing cursors, and feeds new events to the renderer.
Catalog validation lanes
scripts/gate.sh, scripts/gate_runtime.sh, scripts/gate_integration_test.go
Catalog changes now run catalog validation and bridge tests through dedicated gate lanes. Integration tests cover catalog classification and isolated gate slots.

Greptile Summary

This PR adds the Herdr bridge community-catalog package, deterministic artifact, runtime tests, catalog CI/gate classification, and QA documentation. It also unintentionally includes a separate profile-aware tools API change that should be removed from this branch.

  • Adds hook-driven agent and Loop rows with persisted mappings and lifecycle reconciliation.
  • Adds event tailing, terminal-safe rendering, private state/spool files, and recovery behavior.
  • Adds catalog metadata, installer/runtime validation, and QA evidence.
  • Includes unrelated profile-scoped tool API, approval, generated-contract, documentation, and QA changes.

Confidence Score: 4/5

The Herdr bridge itself appears well-defended, but the PR is not safe to merge until the unrelated profile-scoped tools API and contract changes are removed.

The branch contains a separate public API and approval-token feature spanning core handlers, generated contracts, documentation, and QA records, contrary to the PR’s catalog-only scope and its claim that public contracts remain unchanged. All previous Greptile findings were manually resolved and the current code reflects their stated fixes.

Important Files Changed

Filename Overview
catalog/packages/herdr-bridge/bridge.py Handles spooled session hooks, shared agent-row state, maintenance commands, and fail-open diagnostics.
catalog/packages/herdr-bridge/bridge_loops.py Manages Loop rows and reconciles their state against the daemon outside the shared map lock.
catalog/packages/herdr-bridge/bridge_state.py Provides private persistent state, recovery copies, locking, and Herdr transport.
catalog/packages/herdr-bridge/colorize.py Renders session events while preserving message whitespace and escaping terminal controls.
scripts/gate.sh Classifies catalog changes so the gate runs catalog-specific validation.
internal/api/core/tools_profile_scope.go Adds unrelated profile-aware operator-tool scope resolution that belongs to a different feature.
internal/tools/approval_token.go Adds unrelated profile binding to tool approval tokens.

flow to compare payload["timestamp"] as parsed RFC3339Nano time values rather
than lexicographic strings. Preserve the existing empty-batch return behavior
and ensure variable-width fractional seconds sort chronologically so events are
processed in order.
- Line 276: Normalize the workspace identifier extracted in the loop-key

Add one shared helper for this normalization and use it from both
ensure_loop_row and cmd_refresh when calling loop_tail_command, while preserving
real workspace IDs unchanged.
- Around line 174-179: Update pane_alive and the prune flow to distinguish an
unavailable herdr/RPC result from a confirmed dead pane. Make prune remove

- Line 8: Update hook.sh before the spool directory creation to set umask 077,

-p. Keep the current spool path and payload handling unchanged.

- Around line 36-43: Update SessionTail polling to recognize the no-ws workspace
value produced by row_key() and use the workspace-less session-events route
instead of sending no-ws as a workspace ID. Ensure these rows reach normal event
handling and feed the renderer rather than being rejected and retried.

Disposition for the latest Greptile summary (comment 5593295171): the profile-scoped tools changes belong to PR #551, already squash-merged into main as 3be1703 at 2026-09-09T16:11:17Z. PR #560 was then rebased onto that exact base. Both git diff 3be1703c...44e170dfe --name-only and gh pr diff 560 --name-only contain only the 19 catalog, bridge, gate, and bridge-QA files; none of the core tools, approval-token, OpenAPI, or generated Web files named in the summary are part of this PR diff. git range-diff also confirms all five PR patches are unchanged by the rebase. Therefore this scope finding is inapplicable to the current base/head comparison. Removing those changes would incorrectly revert the separately approved and merged PR #551.

Reviewed the current catalog bridge and gate diff, including state recovery and privacy, terminal-safe rendering and diagnostics, authoritative workspace resolution, ordered spool handling, and test process cleanup. All 15 actionable review findings are fixed and their threads resolved. The latest Greptile scope warning is inapplicable: the named profile-tool files are already in base main through merged PR #551 and absent from this PR diff (evidence in comment5605489829).

Validation: make gate CURRENT-PASS after rebase; 12 Python cases and canonical scripts/Mage integration; isolated real-herdr lifecycle/recovery and session-owner API QA with both teardowns clean. Current-head CI34376138589, Catalog and React Doctor all passed; Desktop E2E26/26 passed with the unchanged launch-burst assertion. CodeRabbit and Greptile runs completed. Vercel preview authorization is a nonrequired external deployment status; no preview credentials or protection bypass were granted.
