Malawi has competed in 12 Summer Olympic Games since its debut in 1972. The nation has never competed in the Winter Olympic Games.

The country's first Olympics was the 1972 Munich Olympics. Malawi didn't compete in the 1976 in Montreal because no athletes had qualified.[1] Malawi boycotted the 1980 Summer Olympics and returned during the 1984 Summer Olympics.

Malawi has never won an Olympic medal.[2][3]
